My computer has died, so I'm currently on the market for a new one. We've had bad luck with laptops around here, so I'm going to get a desktop- preferably one that doesn't break the bank.
I'm currently taking an online class, so while I can borrow Brandon's computer, I don't want to monopolize his computer for 3 hours every night. As a result of my need to keep up as I hit mid-semester (yay), I think I'll be making a trip to the computer store after work tomorrow.
I used to be a loyal Gateway fan, then switched over to Dell. After a few bad experiences, now I'm just confused. Anyone out there loyal to a certain brand?

Oh no what happen to it? I always thought a laptop would be great but for the money they seem to die faster. I just limp along on my Dell. It has been good to us that is for sure. Good luck in your quest I just found your Gateway downstairs if you want it??? That needs to be disposed of what the heck do you do with a dead computer other than put it in a storage room? I know how much that computer is used by you for business and for school now. Good luck in finding something.
The hard drive was really messed up- even Bran couldn't save it. We ended up getting a replacement hard drive and the laptop is fixed. They really haven't proven to be very reliable, so I got a cheap desktop, too, which will be better for school work.
What kind did you get?
So are you saying you fixed the laptop but still got a cheap desktop also? That is the ultimate isn't it? What kind did you get? I do like my Dell. It is user friendly I have always said. Did you watch the re run of Lost? I did but tomorrow is the biggy I guess....
We thought the laptop was fixed, but looks like perhaps not. Brandon's been messing with it for a week, so he took a break tonight- for his sanity! I got a Compaq, simply because it was the cheapest thing Best Buy had. With school, I didn't want to wait for shipping, so I went for it.

Umm, looks like I'm already too late to submit favs! I've gone a couple days without getting on the computer when our internet has been down and it drives me nuts. You'd think after being on the computer ALL day at work that I wouldn't mind. However, it's a different story when you're relying on your computer for school and more important things than blogging and checking loads of forwarded emails!!
They are SOOO user friendly. Maybe for your next graduation present ;)!
Jay bought a 24 inch Mac this summer that sometimes blinds me when I'm trying to check my email! It is super nice though and really easy to navigate. Can't quite pack it up and take it to class though!
