How does one go about this whole financial aid thing? I think I'm going to use $3000 in '08, and was awarded around 4 times this much. In the old days, I'd sign on the dotted line and be happy with my newfound riches. It's no fun now that I know better! And online searches for the best prices for textbooks? Newfangled online-only classes? I am so behind-the-times.

Isn't it terrible no one is telling you what to do with all that money.... At least it won't be a struggle to buy the books or pay your bills while you work on degree. Is that for the whole year or what? Merry Christmas.. I am off on a slight mission today. Max has a birthday next week so I am have lots of things to do!!

I must have missed the entire post about you going back to school?!? You know what I would do with the extra money? I'm sure the rate on student loans is significantly lower than any outstanding debt you have, if any. I'd take whatever you need to get through, plus pay off any higher rate debts lingering over your head. That way you're not taking out more than what you need, you're just moving apples from one basket to the next at a lower rate. Does this make any sense?

Thanks for the tip, Kelli! That's not a bad idea- not a bad idea at all.

I'm starting to take classes after the new year in web design. It's an adult-friendly program, so will take something like 3 years to get a web development degree. I'm excited to do something in the creative field...
