One of the most delightful parts of the art opening is that it took place at a mixed media/collage art supply shop, so I met a lot of fellow artists, many of whom had taken classes in soldering. Trust me- it's not every day you get to have a 5-minute coversation with someone about Silvergleem.
I also enjoyed when one visitor described a necklace as "so Hollywood." I honestly don't know exactly what she meant by the term, but I'll take it! I also liked the little girl who was just fascinated by my things, saying "Pretty!" every 1 minute or so. One woman bought 3 charms (3! all for herself!) and another person called the shop, asked if she could come early because she had plans that evening and didn't want to miss the show, and drove about 15 miles from a nearby town. Every show or event I do is always SO different. Even though they're more work than you might imagine (or perhaps you've been through it with me and don't need to imagine- you've lived it!), I love these darn things.

Love love love love the necklaces. Wow. You are SO good! My fave? The last pic, with the inset hearts. So pretty. And of course I love the layout of your necklaces with the clear jars and clear pebbles, hand, mannequin. Just wow.
Nicki that is such neat stuff. How does your mind and heart come up with new ideas all the time. I love the hearts and the old looking stuff. It has the look of an old pirate ship treasure chest findings from the deep blue sea. So you had a good time it sounds like. It was a new venue so one never knows how things will go but now you have your stuff in there all month right? Thanks for the pictures it helps get a feeling of being there even though we weren't!!
Thanks, dearies! I fretted so much over my low-budget display, so hearing words of kindness about it makes my heart sing.
My things will be there all month, mom. Your comment about the pirate ship treasure chest made me smile and new ideas are suddenly floating around my head. Guess that's how it happens. :)
Did you change your format just because I did? I just noticed this morning...
Mom,
No.
Maybe.
I like your new layout!
