It has been decided. My sweetie Brandon is going to take me to Las Vegas to celebrate the big three-oh this year. We will probably hit up Coyote Ugly, where I will dance on top of the bar and kick, stretch then kick, then shout, "I'm thirty!"
Brandon has never been to Las Vegas, and it's been quite a while since I visited with my best girlfriends over spring break. I've been hoping that I would ring in this new year in a memorable fashion, so I'm thrilled and will be looking forward to this.
This is going to be the song running through my head over the next few months:
Bright light city gonna set my soul
Gonna set my soul on fire
Got a whole lot of money that’s ready to burn,
So get those stakes up higher
There’s a thousand pretty women waitin’ out there
And they’re all livin’ devil may care
And I’m just the devil with love to spare
Viva las vegas, viva las vegas
How I wish that there were more
Than the twenty-four hours in the day’cause even if there were forty more
wouldn’t sleep a minute away
Oh, there’s black jack and poker and the roulette wheel
A fortune won and lost on ev’ry deal
All you need’s a strong heart and a nerve of steel
Viva las vegas, viva las vegas
Viva las vegas with you neon flashin’
And your one armbandits crashin’
All those hopes down the drain
Viva las vegas turnin’ day into nighttime
Turnin’ night into daytime
If you see it once
You’ll never be the same again
I’m gonna keep on the run
I’m gonna have me some fun
If it costs me my very last dime
If I wind up broke up well
I’ll always remember that I had a swingin’ time
I’m gonna give it ev’rything I’ve got
Lady luck please let the dice stay hot
Let me shout a seven with ev’ry shot
Viva las vegas, viva las vegas,
Viva, viva las vegas

koda baby

Koda's latest trick is "beg." For a dog breed that is not supposed to be very good at learning tricks, Koda is quite the trickster.
We taught him to beg while using us to balance upon first, and after a few weeks of this now he's learning to balance on his own.
After a rough day yesterday, it was such a delight to realize "He GOT IT!" right before we went to bed.
Amazing what joy a fuzzy little guy can bring to your life.

Is anyone out there on Netflix? We just rejoined after a 6-month hiatus which included watching only FOX or UPN- our only two channels- so we're excited. First in queue: Love Song for Bobby Long. I heard Becki and Kelli discussing when Kelli was out in Colorado last week, and sounds like it's a must-see. Next up are 25 different discs of the TV show "24," ordered by Mr. Brandon. Then there's Carmen Electra's Hip-Hop Dance DVD. I'll let you guess who this request is from. Ahem.
Last night we went to a local brewery, Coopersmiths, where we met up with Becki and Pat and all of Becki's friends from here to Breckenridge. They were all in town for the Guster concert, so we met up with them beforehand. They were all so nice, and we enjoyed ourselves very much. I love the brewery's green chili beer. Me and Brandon took turns saying mean things then proclaiming, "April Fools!" We're both practicing being more mean these days.
Speaking of mean, these two guys got in an almost-fight at the dog park yesterday. Two dogs were getting on each other's nerves, they tried to seperate them, one dog nipped at another's face, a circle of dust ensued, followed by one owner yelling at the other owner to "Take it outside...," then next thing you know Guy 1 is yelling at Guy 2, "The dog park is for DOGS- not for FIGHTING!" So Brandon and I pictured someone sitting in the corner with a canvas and paintbrush, painting a lovely dog park portrait, and aforementioned guy yelling, "The dog park is for DOGS! Not for making art!" I think we're going to have t-shirts made.
