I love the look on our faces in this photo- such genuine expressions which are rarely captured snapshots. I think this was when Brandon had turned around and was taking photos over his shoulder, one right after another, as we acted like twins. Sometimes the random photos are the best. I'll occasionally take a photo walk with Brandon where we'll take what we like to call "hip shots," where we hold the camera down by our side and snap away. It all started one afternoon in a coffee shop. The sun was hitting the wall just perfectly, and I wanted to capture a photo of the moment but didn't want to be obvious about it. The result was neat, so we occasionally go for the crooked, imperfectly-framed hip shots and the results are sometimes crap, but sometimes end up being unlike anything I could plan or try to capture.

Sometimes we like to make Brandon cover his eyes and we take turns saying the same word, phrase or funny sound, then we make him guess which one of us spoke first. Sometimes we fool him. (Denver peeps really know how to party)

Koda says who has the treat or who the heck is who. It is so funny to see how you two dress alike like Colleen and I do sometimes. We call each other some times just to see what we are wearing!! Love the look of all your furniture.

We loved Kodas new trick. I could see him keep looking at you like OK where is my treat. Now you have to buy beer in bottles and see if he can get one out of the fridge and bring it to his masters. How was the concert? Had a great road trip to Norfolk and hugged some cousins today. Ten hours later I am home!!

Glad you were able to see the video, mom! He had just learned it about 10 minutes earlier. He is the smartest dog alive! -- > stated like a true "parent." He can be my buddy if I should ever need that type of assistance- I swear, we keep trying to think of new tricks and am amazed at what he can do. I think he's part Border Collie, because that breed typically loves doing tricks and catch on to things quickly. A smart dog can be a stubborn dog, though- he STILL walks me instead of the other way around.

We skipped the concert last night and instead went to a work BBQ for Brandon, since he'll be leaving in a few weeks. They've only got 5 people in their department, so they're kind of tight-knit.
