I just spent the last hour giving myself a haircut, an act which usually results in me feeling super cool. Or not. I actually tried to add in more layers, which is almost as interesting an endeavor as trying to cut the back, middle section of my hair on my own. Where's that third arm when you need it?
My last haircut & color was right after we moved to Denver, so just about 4 months ago. I used to spend $40 on a cut and tip, and let's just say I spent somewhere around 3-4 times that amount going to a fancy salon a 1/2 block down the street. Let's just also say I'm really not sure how much it was mostly because I've tried to block it out of my memory. I have perfected the art of home highlights, so having spent $100 on something that normally costs me $12 hit me like a ton of bricks a month later when I discovered that my life really wasn't 8 times better having spent 8 times as much on my hair.
Needless to say, I've blown my haircut budget for the next 4 years and I guess it's home salon for me for a while. Take that, $12 SuperCuts haircut!

Unlike you I haven't mastered the art of home hair color (the last 3 times I tried it were distasters), so I've been saving up for months for a cut and hightlights in two weeks! So where is a picture of you with this fabulous new haircut?!
Dana just cut all the brazy sun bleached blonde on Danni's hair and it is so cute. She is going to try and get her in somewhere and do some layers but Dana did a great job. Brecli kept saying oh no Danni your hair is so short so we had to get her out of the kitchen because Danni was kind of sad but now her bangs and hair are almost the same lengh. I am off to mow the yard. Leaves are falling like crazy!! Ugh that means they all come in the house on shoes I hate this time of year but today is just a beautiful fall Sunday with the sun shining....Where is our picture of your endevors?
I wish I was this brave and ambitious. I too, have tried the home color kit all of 3 times in my life, all resulting in disasters. Other than the "Sun In" we used to use religiously in the summer, I've managed to turn my head orange each time. The best however, was when Lisa tried to dye my hair the night before my senior formal and it ended up looking striped white and another shade of terribly light blond. I had to go in for a "correction dye" the following day, with borrowed money, and have it semi-fixed. That was not cheap!
I think my hair grows so slowly that a disaster haircut lingers for months and months. I am scared to even get my haircut at the $12 places. This sounds so vain I know. I've done it of course, but I tell myself things like, "their scissors are too dull, or those are the girls/guys who got C's or worse at beauty school". Totally not fair. I think I was traumatized by a few REALLY terrible haircuts in my past.
Only four more months to go...I am sure Kelli can give you hand me downs, but I am having a great time shopping for the both of you in the mean time!!! How fun!!! You and Brandon will make such good parents. Cograts, Nick.
My oh my you lay it on thick throughout cyberland Beck! I think you've managed to lead the majority of journal/blog subscribers to believe this is true. Man paybacks suck huh?!?
I can't quite get the idea of what your haircut looks like. While the windblown look is great, I can't quite tell what the non-windblown look is like.
Another pic please?
