OMG! You were sooo....cute! I always thought you were like 1/8 Native American, not African American. Michael Jackson, eat your heart out! Yo afro gotz nuttin on Nicki! I'm glad to see that you are owning this picture. You always were a looker. It's hard to look at pics like these from our childhood and not giggle. I have a similar butch-looking hairstyle, much like this one, in my collection of childhood pics. Mine, however, reflect the days in which I was addicted to scissors. I remember being so obsessed with cutting my hair that I turned to toenail clippers when all the scissors were hidden from me! Perhaps as some sort of lesson, my parents never got me a "fix-up" haircut after I took the initiative to chop my locks. Quite possibly because they would've had to shave my head in order to correct my beauty blunder! Needless to say, it's time to proudly admit to myself that I sported a mullet for a few years of my life! Nicki, I think you're gorgeous!

Oh, Kelli- thank you for a much, much needed laugh out loud giggle this morning. Thinking of these little kid hands somehow being dextrous enough to use a NAIL CLIPPER to cut hair cracks me up! Then the "lesson" you received just having to sport your new nail clipper 'do. Hopefully you just strutted your stuff and owned it by telling all the kids it was the latest experimental stylish hairstyle you received from the girls down at Stewart's School of Hairstyling. :)

Oh,ladies- I am getting such a big head, if you will, at all the attention my mini 'fro has been receiving! There's nothing that says "Treasured photos to keep forever" more than new turquoise sweaters and 13-hour old home-perms.

PS- I love the kiddie photos of you and Andy on your baby shower page! I keep stopping back wanting there to be more.

Kelli did you chicken out the first time? Hey that was a mighty fine hairdo ladies. Look how cute she is and teal sweater was new!! That was a big deal. You just wait until your kids look at their pictures!!!

I'm just kinda T'Oed that Andy would imply that my curly spiral brownish perm looks anywhere similar to Napoleon's curly spiral brownish perm!
