My computer has died, so I'm currently on the market for a new one. We've had bad luck with laptops around here, so I'm going to get a desktop- preferably one that doesn't break the bank.
I'm currently taking an online class, so while I can borrow Brandon's computer, I don't want to monopolize his computer for 3 hours every night. As a result of my need to keep up as I hit mid-semester (yay), I think I'll be making a trip to the computer store after work tomorrow.
I used to be a loyal Gateway fan, then switched over to Dell. After a few bad experiences, now I'm just confused. Anyone out there loyal to a certain brand?

baby evil eye
The baby in this video made me laugh today. After a long and unusually busy day at work today, I needed a laugh.

I love eBay. I've been buying and selling on eBay for almost a decade. As of today, I've accumulated 100% positive feedback throughout 271 total transactions. If you know eBay and the US Postal Service, this is no minor feat! People can be strange, and packages can get lost in the great abyss. Somehow, the eBay gods have smiled upon me, as I've had good luck throughout the past decade.
Back in college, I bought a vintage Nike warmup jacket for $2 at a tiny thrift store and ended up making almost $30 more than what I'd paid. So exciting! In college terms, $30 buys you a lot of Ramen noodles (or $1 tap beers at the Press Box). I've also found lots of neat old finds. I went through a vintage t-shirt phase, and these past few years have used eBay to buy old ledgers and French dictionaries and jewelry findings. Last year, I won a whole lot of heart-shaped metal dog license tags from Mobridge, South Dakota. There must have been around 50 of them, and they were in great shape since they'd never been issued. I melted solder on them and dipped them in patina, and they were a hit at a trunk show last year.
Over the past few years, I've been doing searches every few months for neat vintage finds from my home town, either looking for things from Wagner, SD (where I was born) or Sioux Falls, SD (where lived from age 3+).
I won this little gem this week- an old medicine bottle from Moe Hospital in Sioux Falls, So.Dak. Apparently the hospital was located at 14th and Main and existed prior to my dad's employer, Sioux Valley Hospital (now Sanford Hospital), sometime in the early 1900's.

koda: dreaming of the countryside
Over at Hundred Acre Hood , we were discussing the latest blog entry, which was a little bit country and a little bit city. This lead to a discussion of sorts about Green Acres and penthouse views.
I mentioned that our view from the bottom floor in our uptown Denver apartment is brick wall. I wasn't kidding! Here's a picture of Koda enjoying "the view."

P.S. I'm inspired by the daily posting over there. It's fun to have some hot-off-the-press creativity to look forward to every day.
